i gotta see it!

have you read this?

if you haven’t go read it now! This is by far my favorite book…and the movie is coming out in August-but you have to read the book before you see the movie, it’s just that good!

I can’t wait.

do y’all have any good book recommendations?

homemade oreos and keys to OUR house!

I don’t know what it is about oreos, but I love them! I have always wanted to make the “homemade” kind and finally did for Rebecca’s birthday.  I use homemade loosely because you use 2 cake mixes and bought frosting! You don’t have to tell anybody though :)

You’ll need

2 devils food cake mixes

4 eggs

2/3 cup of vegetable oil

Preheat the oven to 350. Mix together by hand or with a mixer.  Make evenly sized balls and put them onto an ungreased baking sheet.  Bake for 6 minutes. Do not overbake! {They won’t seem done at 6 minutes, but they will be perfect!}

Let the cookies cool all the way and then put frosting between the two cookies and enjoy! It’s as easy as that!

On another note, we got keys to OUR house!

We took our engagement pictures and should be getting them back today {hopefully!!!}.  I will be sure to post some soon! Sorry for that teaser in the last post :)

we called her moose

because we didn’t know what her real name was, so Moose stuck.

Meet Moose-a beautiful chocolate lab.

We went to Korbin’s apartment on Friday night and Moose was there! We both fell in love with her. She is perfectly trained-she can sit and shake.  Since dogs are not allowed at either of our apartments, Korbin’s dad came and picked her up Saturday morning.  We went out to his house and played with her, took her on a walk, and scratched her belly.  She had actually gotten a bad cut somewhere in her runaway process so Korbin’s dad had to put 3 stitches in her! We were about to put this picture on KSL to see if we could find her owners (sadly).  Before we did that, we looked in the lost and found section and there was an add for Moose, better known as Millie. It was really sad telling her goodbye! Haha I get attached way to easy.  I can’t wait to have a “Millie” of our own someday!

to my beautiful momma

A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts

-Washington Irving

Thanks for putting up with us crazy kids! We love you! There’s not an hour of the day that I don’t think of you! I love that we are so much alike! I hope I can be just like you when I am a mom.  I can’t wait to see you again!

spring time, mom, graduation, boiled peanuts on the Y, easter, engagement pictures

It looks like spring is here! I just hope it’s here to stay!

Mom got to be a guest in MY apartment and I loved it.

Kyle graduated from BYU in Exercise Science!

Korbin and I hiked the Y and I brought boiled peanuts that came back with me straight from AL! I bet that was the first time those mountain had seen boiled peanuts!

We dyed easter eggs on Easter!

And finally, we are taking engagement pictures tomorrow! We were supposed to take them last Friday but it was blizzarding (yes, it was almost May and it looked and felt like January…oh Utah!). We then rescheduled for Saturday and it was freezing still and there was snow on the ground. So finally we rescheduled for tomorrow and it is going be 76 degrees! Heavenly!
